Cockroaches Treatment in Winnipeg

Licensed professional treatment for cockroaches in Winnipeg and Manitoba. Transparent pricing. Thorough inspection. Guaranteed results.

🔍 How we inspect for cockroaches

Our licensed technician performs a systematic inspection using a high-powered flashlight, inspection mirror, and UV light. We examine behind and beneath all kitchen appliances (refrigerator, stove, dishwasher), inside cabinet hinges and drawer slides, behind outlet plates, under the sink, and along all pipe penetrations. Aggregation pheromone sticky monitors are placed in suspected harborage zones for 24–48 hours before treatment to map the infestation precisely.

⚠️ Signs you have cockroaches

Our technicians are trained to identify both obvious and subtle indicators of cockroaches activity:

  • Musty, oily odour — especially in kitchen or bathroom
  • Small dark droppings (like coffee grounds) along cabinet edges
  • Brown egg cases (oothecae) in dark crevices
  • Live cockroaches visible at night when lights are turned on
  • Smear marks on surfaces near water sources
  • Shed nymphal skins in concealed areas

🧪 How we treat cockroaches

APC uses a gel bait protocol — NOT blanket spraying. High-potency gel bait (imidacloprid, indoxacarb, or fipronil) is placed in rice-grain-sized amounts every 15–20cm in all harborage areas: under appliance motors, inside cabinet hinges, along pipe penetrations, and behind outlet plates. The bait is distributed through trophallaxis (food-sharing) and cannibalism of poisoned nestmates. Insect growth regulator (hydroprene) is applied to sterilize surviving females. Diatomaceous earth is applied to wall voids for long-term residual. Heavy infestations receive targeted perimeter spray as a supplemental knockdown.

Treatment timeline

Days 1–2: Significant reduction. Week 2: Follow-up gel bait replenishment. Week 4–6: Near-elimination confirmed. Multi-unit buildings require 3 visits over 3 months.

🏠 DIY prevention tips

While professional treatment is required for active infestations, these steps help prevent future problems:

  • Store all food (including pet food) in airtight containers
  • Fix all dripping faucets — cockroaches need water daily
  • Caulk all gaps around pipes, behind outlet plates, and under baseboards
  • Inspect all cardboard boxes from grocery stores before bringing inside
  • DO NOT use aerosol sprays — they scatter cockroaches into walls and worsen the infestation
PMRA-Compliant Treatment

All products used by APC Exterminators are registered under Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA). Our technicians are licensed under Manitoba's Pesticides and Fertilizers Control Act.
