Wasps & Hornets Treatment in Winnipeg

Licensed professional treatment for wasps & hornets in Winnipeg and Manitoba. Transparent pricing. Thorough inspection. Guaranteed results.

🔍 How we inspect for wasps & hornets

Our technician conducts a visual inspection of all structural surfaces: eaves, soffits, deck undersides, shed exteriors, and fence lines. We use a long probe rod to detect underground nests. A 10-metre perimeter walk identifies all active nests. Flight patterns of returning foragers are observed to locate concealed nests inside wall voids or attic spaces.

⚠️ Signs you have wasps & hornets

Our technicians are trained to identify both obvious and subtle indicators of wasps & hornets activity:

  • Visible grey papery nest under eaves, in trees, or on structures
  • High forager traffic in and out of a specific gap in siding or soffit
  • Ground nests: small entrance hole at lawn level with forager traffic
  • Yellowjackets hovering near food, BBQ, or garbage
  • Buzzing sound from within a wall void

🧪 How we treat wasps & hornets

All treatments are performed at dusk when foragers have returned. Ground nests: deltamethrin or carbaryl dust injected directly into the entrance — foragers carry the dust throughout the nest killing the colony within 48–72 hours. Aerial nests: direct pyrethroid aerosol at the nest entrance, followed by physical removal and sealing. Wall void nests: access hole drilled, dust injected, hole sealed with polyurethane foam.

Treatment timeline

Day 1: Treatment at dusk. Days 2–3: Colony mortality. Day 4–7: Physical nest removal. Single visit effective in over 95% of cases.

🏠 DIY prevention tips

While professional treatment is required for active infestations, these steps help prevent future problems:

  • Seal all gaps in siding and soffits in early May before queens establish nests
  • Inspect under eaves weekly in May — remove founding nests when golf-ball sized
  • Keep compost in sealed bins and clean BBQ grills thoroughly
  • Cover outdoor beverages — yellowjackets are attracted to sugar and protein
  • NEVER disturb a nest with more than 15 visible workers — call a professional
